Talent Advisor, Performance and Talent Management (Associate Director)

About the role: 

 

The Talent Advisor, Performance and Talent Management is responsible for designing and implementing strategies that align employee performance and talent management with organizational goals. This role focuses on driving a culture of continuous feedback, managing performance processes, and ensuring that talent management processes and tools supports talent identification and business planning for critical roles and capabilities. The Talent Advisor oversees the organization’s performance management and talent management processes. This role manages processes and tools that ensure employees are effectively assessed, developed, and recognized for their contributions, while also creating talent pipelines for future leadership and critical roles. The Talent Advisor works closely with People Technology, People Analytics and HR Business Partners to ensure these annual programs and processes are delivering the outcomes needed, providing measurement and analysis against intended goals.  

In the role, the Talent Advisor will oversee delivery and experience of the performance and talent management processes, communication, training and related technology systems..  

 

This role reports to the Global Head of Talent & Growth and is based in Foster City, CA.  

 

Responsibilities: 

Lead, manage and facilitate our Performance and Talent Management processes and outcomes, including design, continuing education, communications, employee engagement/adoption and operational processes. 

Provide thought leadership on performance and talent management programs and best practices, growing our capability and continuing to direct the strategy and solutions in alignment with business needs. 

Ensure the configuration, implementation, and embedding of the performance and talent management modules and processes in the Workday and/ or other technology systems. 

Review and refine processes in view of ensuring employee experience is consistent, integrated and simplified. Connects across HR to ensure processes and program experiences are seamless to end user. 

Ensure that performance and talent management practices promote inclusion and diversity within the organization. 

Lead change management initiatives related to new talent and performance management processes or systems. 

Ensure capability building is in pace to support people leaders in delivering on the performance and talent processes. 

Continuously refine talent and performance programs based on data and feedback. 

 

 

Expertise: 

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 

5+ years of experience in performance management, talent management, or organizational development. 

Proven experience in designing and implementing performance and talent management strategies. 

Strong understanding of performance management systems, talent assessments, and succession planning methodologies. 

Experience working with people technology software (WorkDay).  

Expertise in designing, integrating, and operationalizing performance management and talent management processes across all levels of an organization.

Analytical mindset, with the ability to use data to drive decisions and strategy. 

Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Has a customer focused approach and embeds into mindset, practice and methodology.

Demonstrates development focus by seeking feedback and acting on it and providing feedback to others.

The salary range for this position is: $177,905.00 - $230,230.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
