Perfusionist
As assigned by the Chief Perfusionist and according to the prescribed standards the Perfusionist performs those functions necessary for the support treatment measurement and/or supplementation of the cardiopulmonary and/or circulatory system of the patient. The Perfusionist performs advanced technical work in the selection preparation operation and maintenance of the cardiopulmonary bypass and ancillary equipment. The Perfusionist is responsible for the knowledge operation and maintenance of a wide variety of technical perfusion equipment utilized in cardiac surgery as well as other circulatory support devices and for close cooperation with the attending physician in extra-corporeal perfusion practices. The primary working area is the operating room however the possibility exists of working in other within the Health System.

Position Compensation Range: $122,886.40 - $196,622.40 Annual

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: Graduate of an accredited program in Perfusion required. Bachelor' s Degree preferredExperience: No experience required. Pediatric and VAD experience preferredLicensure: Certified to practice as a Perfusionist by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion; if new grad certified within four exam offerings and within 24 months of hire date. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.PHYSICAL DEMANDSJob requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling, climbing (ladder, steps) and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull > 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, fumes, heat, noise, cold, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
