Job Overview:
As a Perfusionist, you will operate the Heart-Lung Machine during Open Heart Surgery, maintaining the patient's hemodynamic and physiologic parameters within acceptable limits for adult procedures. This includes minimally invasive and DaVinci Robotic procedures, TAVRs, Left Heart Bypass, and ECMO. You will also operate various Cardiovascular Life Support equipment, such as Cardiohelp, Centrimag, Belmont pump for HIPEC, Angiovac procedures, IABP, Cell Savers, and POC testing. Additionally, you will operate and maintain Heater Cooler Devices for CPB Procedures.

Bachelor's Degree in Perfusion, or graduate of an ABCP recognized Perfusion Program. Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS). CCP Certification in Cardiovascular Perfusion by ABCP or eligible. Certification required within 2 years of date of hire. Knowledge of special procedures such as heart bypass, circulatory arrest, and cerebral perfusion. Ability to prepare and use these procedures with minimal supervision.Job Responsibilities:
Provide auto transfusion services and support to all surgical specialties throughout TriHealth. Preserve, support, or enhance acceptable hemodynamic and physiologic parameters before, during, and after operations using various mechanical life support systems. Monitor parameters utilizing blood gas analysis, activated clotting times, and glucose monitoring, and effectively treat any parameters outside of acceptable limits. Maintain adequate tissue perfusion for each patient undergoing open heart or major vascular surgery using the heart-lung bypass machine. Communicate effectively with the surgeon and anesthesiologist during surgery to optimize patient conditions during and after surgery. Comply with departmental policies regarding on-call coverage, emergency response times, scheduling, staffing, and teamwork.Working Conditions:
