Perinatal Social Worker

Overview:

WiredPeople is looking for a Perinatal Social Worker to join our team working remotely supporting project teams based in Tallahassee, Florida. This role is part-time and remote up to 20 hours per week dependent upon the number of cases assigned for review.  Candidates must be located and licensed in the State of Florida.

Essential Functions:

Review selected cases quarterly and identify any potential bias in the health care delivery and any social determinants of health that may have affected the maternal demise. Work with records analysts and/or project coordinator to incorporate these findings into the case narratives in preparation for quarterly meetings. Attend suggested and required ongoing trainings.Incorporate the final and completed informant interview plan that includes the introduction letter, sample script, and interview guide into the procedural guide.Develop and implement a process to train the records analysts in how to conduct informant interviews. This process will include a step-by-step training guide and a recorded video training in Microsoft Teams on how to conduct informant interviews. Train records analysts in how to conduct informant interviews and incorporate records’ analyst feedback into the training module. Working in coordination with the program administrator and data analyst, use a grounded theory approach to identify patterns of bias and typical examples in Florida cases reviewed in 2020 and 2021. Prepare a report with the key findings and a visual guide for abstractors on bias identification in medical records. Assist the records analysts with conducting informant interviews every quarter and enter data into the system.

Qualifications:

Licensed clinical social worker or a master's degree in social work.MUST be licensed in the State of Florida to qualify. 1 year of experience and knowledge working in obstetrics, antenatal, and postpartum care.Bereavement counseling experience at a minimum in lieu of perinatal experience.Computer skills, including data entry experience Knowledge of the social determinants of healthAbility to perform well with a team in a remote work environmentStrong professional communication skills.Experience in family/peer counseling and outreach
