Performs ultrasound procedures under the direction of a Radiologist. Coordinates the day to day operations of the Perinatology Department.

Responsibilities Prepares patient for examination.Performs Ultrasound procedures according to professional standards and policies.Participates in the department's Quality Assurance Program.Participates in the hiring, orientation, training and supervision of respective Diagnostic Imaging section taff.Prepares schedule and provides adequate staffing levels at all times.Inventories and orders supplies for respective Diagnostic Imaging section as necessary while negotiating contracts and pricing with various vendors.Reviews images, documents completion of case, scans required documents and transmits to the Radiologist via PACS. Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma Or Equivalent required

Graduate of an AMA school for diagnostic sonography required

 

Work Experience:

Related Experience Preferred

Additional Experience Requirements

Previous experience post-training preferred.

 

Licenses and Certifications:

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Required

CPR certification

ARDMS OB/GYN certification

Nuchal Translucency certification

Fetal Echocardiography certification

1st Trimester certified

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.
