Perioperative Materials Specialist
**Job Description/Summary:** Under the direct supervision of the Supply Chain Director the Perioperative Materials Specialist assists with the management of Operating Room and Cath / EP Lab materials cost containment. Controls inventory levels and accuracy. Maintains preference/procedure cards. Performs analytics, ensures optimization of supplies to support daily operations, enforces contract compliance and identifies cost savings opportunities. Works collaboratively with Operating Room and Cath Lab clinical staff to identify process improvement opportunities and implements identified practices. **Position Requirements:** **Minimum Education:** High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. Bachelor's degree in materials management, Finance, economics or related field preferred. **Minimum Experience:** Minimum seven (7) years of experience in combination of purchasing, materials management or other related areas. Minimum three (3) years of experience supporting OR and specialty Perioperative areas, working with Physician and clinical staff. **Certification Required:** Professional certification such as a Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM). **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** Experience in a healthcare environment with specific knowledge of Operating Room medical/ surgical products preferred. Significant knowledge of products/services and their market environment. Working knowledge of medical terminology and medical equipment used in the Operating Room/Cath Lab environments. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Ability to work in a team-centric environment. **Technical Knowledge:** Proficient in a variety of software applications with the ability to develop complex spreadsheets and write business communications. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) **Physical Requirements:** Sit: Up to 8 hours/day Stand/Walk: Up to 6 hours Bend/Stoop: Up to 6 hours Reach: Up to 6 hours Rep Use of UE/Grasp: Up to 8 hrs Lift/Push/Pull: 25 lbs, over 25# with assistance or equipment This job requires the ability to hear alarms clients and/or instruction.
