Summary
The Strategic Sourcing Program Manager is a highly visible position with accountability at the system level to develop and execute sourcing initiatives for medical devices and supplies. This position will assist in the management of $250M in aggregate spend. This position is responsible for assessing opportunities and formulating sourcing strategies, co-leading a system-wide value analysis team, and interacting with business partners and key stakeholders. This position is expected to build strategic alliances with key stakeholders as it relates to successfully executing our Supply Chain Strategy.
This position will support Advantus Health Partner (AHP) Strategic Sourcing Perioperative Team. The need is to manage AHP and Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) Periop agreements.
Essential Functions
Co-leads a system-wide value analysis team. This involves product research, cost/reimbursement analysis, and presentation development in support of value analysis process.Assists with the development and implementation of strategies and processes for reducing supply expense while not forfeiting quality of care.Monitors, communicates, and makes improvements to product utilization within assigned categories.Collaborates with physicians in identifying and implementing improvements and standardization in support of initiatives.Manage assigned sourcing initiatives including scoping analysis, RFP development, proposal evaluations, negotiations, communication of recommendations, contracting, and ongoing supplier management.Monitor and report compliance for system-wide contracts; identify recurring trends and key opportunities for vendor or internal improvements.Employment Qualifications
Required Minimum Education: 4 year Bachelor’s Degree Specialty/Major: Supply Chain, Analytics, Business Administration
Preferred Education: Masters Specialty/Major: Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s in Informatics/Analytics or Nursing
Licensure/Certification Preferred: RN or LPN
Minimum Years and Type of Experience: 5 years progressive management experience in sourcing relevant commodities.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Exhibit leadership and management ability with excellent interpersonal skills to effectively form collaborative team relationships with senior administrators, department managers/directors, physicians, vendors, and clinical staff to support Bon Secours Mercy Health’s supply expense and service line goals. Must possess the ability to deal with multiple priorities, be self-driven, work toward goals & timelines. Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to communicate well at all levels of an organization. Superior analytical skills & problem-solving skills required. Proficient in Excel required. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary for relevant sourcing. For IT sourcing, this includes information technology engagements in the following areas: Infrastructure (data center and networking), applications (business and healthcare), telecommunications. Has demonstrated leadership and management ability with excellent interpersonal skills to effectively form collaborative team relationships with senior administrators, department managers/directors, physicians, vendors, and clinical staff to support BSMH’s supply expense and service line goals. Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to communicate well at all levels of an organization. Must have demonstrated the usefulness of “evidence-based” practice as a method for decision making. Superior analytical skills required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and experience in working with large-scale automated systems. Expertise in preparing, importing and manipulating information in spreadsheets and databases, Word documents and PowerPoint presentations. Has previously demonstrated successful contract negotiation skills and ability to apply those skills to establish and administer complex contracts for BSMH products and services. Must possess the ability to deal with multiple priorities, be self-motivated, work tight time frames/deadlines, and function independently to implement new programs within a broad scope of guidelines and established policies and goals.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Demonstrated successful contract negotiation skills and ability to apply those skills to establish and administer complex contracts is strongly preferred. Direct supply chain experience or service line leadership preferred Previous experience working with McKesson Supply Chain Management system.
