Perioperative Vascular Sedation Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary: MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Perioperative Vascular Sedation RN to join our Operating Room team at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. This role focuses on providing moderate sedation and perioperative care for patients undergoing vascular procedures.

Job Description:

The Role: Perioperative Vascular Sedation RN

This specialized RN will provide direct care to patients undergoing surgical procedures including moderate sedation, using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Position Highlights:

This position is 40 hours, 6:30a-3p, Mon-Fri.Does not require weekend, holiday, or on-call rotation.

What You'll Do:

Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources pre-surgery and throughout the surgical procedure. Communicates patient condition as appropriate.Collaborates as needed across all disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.Maintains and troubleshoots surgical equipment. Orders and stocks sedation and vascular supplies as needed.Responsible for the perioperative nurse role when there are no sedation cases.

The ideal candidate will have: 

Have a valid state of Maine RN license or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion, requiredPrevious OR and sedation experience is requiredCritical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Ability to operate and excel in a healthcare environment with many inherent stressors.
