ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT IV (CARPENTER GENERAL FOREMAN)

CSC PRESCRIBED QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education          :  High School Graduate or Completion of relevant vocational or trade course

Experience        :  Two (2) years of relevant experience

Training             :  Eight (8) hours of relevant training

Eligibility            :  Relevant CSC MC 10, s. 2013 – Cat. II

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education          :  Completion of 2 years in College or High School Graduate with completion
                         of relevant vocational or trade course

Experience        :  At least two (2) years of practical experience in Maintenance and
                         Construction Projects

Training             :  Eight (8) hours of relevant training

Eligibility            :  Relevant CSC MC 10, s. 2013 – Cat. II

ADDITIONAL COMPETENCY

1.     Good communication, organizational, supervisory and time management skills;

2.     Knowledge on pertinent laws, rules and regulation on construction and building management;

3.     Knowledge and experience in facility repair, maintenance and building construction such as carpentry and other related works;

4.     Knowledge in construction and maintenance materials; and

5.     Able to work harmoniously, competently and effectively even under pressure and minimal supervision.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Performs foreman level carpentry works in construction, maintenance, repair and supprt tasks; and supervises both skilled and unskilled personnel in the performance of the Department’s maintenance, construction and other related works.

Functions and Responsibilities:

The ADAS IV (Carpenter Foreman) shall:

1.     Attend to necessary carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical maintenance, construction and repairs of the building and other facilities of the Department;

2.     Shall serve as an assistant to the Construction and Maintenance General Foreman; regulate, monitor and supervise the activities of unskilled and skilled personnel and technicians including inspection of their works;

3.     Provide technical assistance/advice on maintenance and construction works including the use and care of building equipment and facilities;

4.     Prepare and submit periodic reports to immediate supervisors;

5.     Consults and assist the BGMD Chief, Engineers and Architects in all building and grounds maintenance and construction works; and

6.     Undertake other tasks that may be assigned from time to time related to BGMD functions.

JOB OUTPUTS

1.     Weekly/Monthly repair/maintenance and monitoring reports

2.     Technical Assistance feedback and accomplishment reports

3.     Other reports as may be required
