· Working knowledge of MS Office and other computer applications.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Division Chief of the Legal Assistance Division (LAD) – Legal Service (LS), the Legal Assistant III is responsible for the provision of legal support and assistance to facilitate the operations of the LAD and LS. She/he extends legal assistance such as, but not limited to drafting legal opinions on laws, rules and policies, drafting, commenting or reviewing proposed contracts (procurement or non-procurement) IRRs, bills, guidelines, conducting research and legal studies, providing legal advice on simple legal queries, attend TWG or Committee meetings or activities as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or LS Director, and perform other related tasks.
Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Draft legal advice or opinions on laws, rules and policies;
2. Comment or review proposed contracts, IRRs, bills, guidelines;
3. Draft complicated legal documents and instruments such as but not limited to contracts, deeds, memoranda, correspondences, and affidavits;
4. Provide legal advice on simple legal queries;
5. Research on laws, issuances, jurisprudence, rules and regulations;
6. Support case preparation by preparing case summaries and materials;
7. Assist lawyers in drafting pleadings and during representations in courts or administrative tribunals;
8. Communicate and coordinate correspondences with various officials and offices;
9. Attend committee or TWG meetings/activities as assigned by the Head of Office; and
10. Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by LD Director and Division Chief;
Job Outputs:
1. Memoranda of Legal Opinions and advice;
2. Memoranda or review of Contracts/agreements and other legal documents;
3. Draft of documents and instruments such as contracts, deeds, memoranda, correspondences, and affidavits;
4. Legal research outputs; and
5. Periodic/Compliance Reports

7. Copy of Special Order or Certification indicating the supervisory/management experience/functions signed by the HRMO or any authorized representative (for Division Chief positions only/if applicable)
8. Valid NBI/Police Clearance or proof of payment i.e. official receipt of the NBI/Police clearance;
9. Authenticated or photocopy of Civil Service Eligibility and/or Valid PRC ID/Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) ID/proof of payment or schedule of appointment for the PRC/IBP renewal license; and
10. Performance Rating in the last rating period or its equivalent, as may be applicable (For those applicants from the public sector vying for promotion, a performance rating is required).
Internal (including COS workers) and external applicants from the public sector: Latest and duly approved Individual Performance Contract Rating (IPCR).
