PERMIT CLERK/ TECHNICIAN
JOB SUMMARY:
• Process incoming permit applications for plan review and inspections
Responsible for verifying and accepting submittals by ensuring all documents necessary for permit issuance are submitted and complete.
Follow up on permits submitted to the City
• Provide exceptional customer service to our internal and external customers
• Provide copies of inspection reports as requested.
• Answer incoming calls from Contractors, Cities and others requesting inspections to be scheduled
• Schedule inspections received by phone and/or emails.
• Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with co-workers and the public
Must be a self-starter, able to work within a group and individually
And other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Requires clerical and technical support duties within the Fort Worth Office
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Previous permit technician experience is a plus
Must have excellent typing, data entry, and clerical skills.
Must be computer savvy. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and working with different software and databases.
Required Education, Education, and Certifications:
High School Diploma/ Associates Degree (preferred) and 2-5 years of experience as a certified permit technician; or equivalent combination of education and experience
