General Summary
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of tasks within the department to ensure that meal orders are taken and served to the visitors and patients of the Medical System consistent with established department standards. This position is utilized primarily in the patient services area.

Patient Services
Sets up work stations, ensuring all required items are available before the start of the line. Breaks down work station and cleans area at the end of the line.
A. Communicates with patients in a kind and courteous manner
B. Verbally takes meal orders from patients and enters them electronically.
C. Delivers meals to patient rooms, ensuring correct patient identification and meal accuracy.
D. Stocks food storage pantries accordning to a specified list
E. Communicates and works with nursing staff regarding diet order changes and general patient nutritional needs. needs.

QualificationsEducation and Experience
Six months general work experience preferably in a food service setting is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction. Basic understanding of and ability to converse effectively using the English language in order to understand and interpret menus, department memorandum and customer requests.Ability to exercise efficient and rapid eye-hand coordination in the daily performance of work.Ability to stand for approximately 90% of the time.
