Personnel Security Advisor
Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: £29,740 - £38,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)
Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight.
Hybrid working is available for this role on an informal, non-contractual basis. Typically 3/4 days onsite per week.

AWE is currently recruiting for a Security Advisor for the Personnel Security group.
Key Accountabilities:
Support the respective Security Manager in maintaining security in an effective and efficient manner.Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality, and be a great team player.Key Responsibilities:
Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, providing proportionate and relevant advice and support in relation to UKSV vetting clearance process and applications.Ensuring compliance of AWE pass holders vetting status and processing of clearance applications for access to site for the purposes of undertaking works at AWE.Contribute to the ongoing review of existing security processes to make sure they are both proportionate and relevant to the threat.Measure the performance and effectiveness of security and advise the Security Manager if corrective action and improvements are needed.Maintaining security department records and look for efficiencies and improvements in ways of working.The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.Who are we looking for?
We do need you to have the following:
Extensive experience within a Customer Service/Administration roleStrong organisational skillsPossess an enthusiasm to learn and develop security understandingGood IT literacy (proficient in the use of MS Office applications especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Previous experience of working within a Security Vetting/Personnel Security environment would be desirable but by no means essentialYou’ll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines.
