The role:
As a Pest Control Field Operator, you’ll be on the frontlines of protecting New Zealand’s biodiversity. Using methods like trapping and toxin deployment, you’ll help restore native species and safeguard biosecurity. Every day is different, and every project presents new challenges and opportunities to learn.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, anywhere from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Location: Our team in Pleasant Point frequently travel to operational sites across the South Island, providing the opportunity to experience New Zealand off the beaten track. In this role, you will be required to stay away for the working week (Mon - Fri) plus the occasional 10-day stint, with accommodation and meals provided.

Eligible to work full-time in New Zealand. Full or Restricted NZ driver's licence with a clean driving record, and the ability to drive off-road vehicles. Clear criminal record. Physically fit and capable of carrying heavy loads across steep mountainous terrain, this role is not for the faint-hearted. Experience in pest control or biosecurity work is a plus. Willingness to drive long distances and stay away from Pleasant Point HCC base. Able to adhere to and have a strong commitment to health and safety standards. Excellent verbal communication skills. Able to work independently in the field and manage time efficiently. Comfortable working outdoors in varying environmental conditions. Positive work attitude and a great work ethic.Preferred Qualifications (not mandatory):
A qualification or experience in pest control. First Aid Certificate. Qualifications in ATV, LUV and 4WD use. GrowSafe Certification or Controlled Substance Licence.Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment assessment, including medical, reference, and criminal background checks, meeting Rentokil Initial's satisfactory criteria. We encourage individuals who may not successfully pass a police check and drug and alcohol test to consider this before applying.
