Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._ **Responsibilities:** GENERAL PURPOSE: Inspects and responds to concerns in all University facilities regarding evidence of structural pests (animals, birds, insects and the like) and applies pesticides as directed utilizing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies and in accordance with policies and state and federal regulations. Independently selects control measures, and maintains detailed logs of all work performed. Coordinates and assigns the work of others in the absence of supervisor. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** + Inspects all University premises for signs of infestation and evidence of harborage. Selects and applies appropriate devices or pesticides for control of structural pests. + Maintains detailed daily logs of work performed, including location serviced, time spent, and pesticides used, as required by NYS DEC. Routinely and frequently reports findings and activities to Sanitarian. Drafts periodic reports for Sanitarian to distribute. Provides regular services to high risk areas and follows up with written reports where required. + Assists in developing control programs for special pest problems. Oversees, makes recommendations, and may assist in rodent-proofing of problem areas. Investigates complaints and devises solutions in consultation with Sanitarian. + Attends pest control workshops and seminars to maintain skills and keep abreast of trends and applicable regulations. Provides sanitation training as it relates to pest control.
