Location: San Martin Oncology

Scope

The scope of responsibilities includes facilities and departments as assigned by Imaging Services leadership and includes temporary shift assignments.  Responsibilities include knowledge of the processes, equipment, and procedures to safely perform Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures independently, regularly, and frequently. This position is used in facilities that consistently and regularly perform PET/CT exams.

Job Essentials

Oversee the clinical and administrative operations of a nuclear medicine department. Assist with budget planning and recommend changes to ensure efficient operationsLicensing and renewal requirements are outlined by regulatory agencies, and meticulous record keeping is requiredParticipate in decisions about hiring, promotions, discipline, and other personnel mattersEnsure compliance with environmental health, infection control, safety, and regulatory standardsPerforms proper radiation safety protocols, proper handling, measurement, calibration, and administration of radioactive sources and radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Performs and executes processes for receiving, documenting, handling, storing and administering of radiopharmaceuticals in Nuclear Medicine and PET/CTEnsures proper patient identification, verifies orders, and prepares the patient for the examPerforms Nuclear Medicine and PETCT examinations per departmental protocol, exhibits competence in scanning parameters, and ensures that the appropriate radioactive material is given to the correct patient through the proper route for imaging and treatment purposesPractices appropriate infection control and sterile techniquesMaintains competency in all clinical and technical functions of the jobFollows appropriate State Division of Radiation Control, NRC, and Intermountain policy and procedure including clinical documentation, billing, and electronic medical workflows.


Minimum Qualifications

Completion of a formal Nuclear Med Tech training program.ARRT NM or NMTCB Registration.Current state Radiology Tech License.Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.Five years of Nuclear Medicine experience.Five years of PET/CT experience.

Experience can be acquired concurrently; student hour experience may count.  Experience is at the discretion of hiring leader.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$37.98 - $58.61
