Job Summary: Perform PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine procedures, which produce images and measure concentrations of radio nuclides in specific body areas to obtain accurate information for diagnosis. Exercise professional judgment in performance of service. Assist with the therapeutic administration of radio nuclides. Evaluate orders for approved diagnosis codes for reimbursement.
Responsible for oversight of equipment maintenance, PMs and repairs. Primary oversight for modality accreditations, Joint Commission requirements and adherence to state and federal guidelines as applicable. Supervisor is responsible for additional modality-specific tasks as assigned by the manager/director, in addition to participating in routine daily operations and workflow within the modality.
Qualifications: Registered ARRT and or CNMTand graduate of an accredited NM Technology program. Must be eligible to sit and complete the PET certification within 12 month of employment. Certification must be renewed every 7 years. Thorough knowledge and skill in performing PET/CT and NM procedures. Trained in safe storage, record keeping, shipping and security of radioactive materials. Perform and maintain QC records and meet regulatory requirements. Perform and interpret glucose results to determine patient eligibility for PET scan. Current BLS certification required.
