What are we looking for? The laboratory supervisor is responsible for overseeing the testing and certification of petroleum products submitted to the lab in a safe and timely manner. They maintain communication with clients and management regarding the status of samples. Supervisors are required to enforce all company policies regarding quality, ethics and code of conduct and be a role model for same. Shift/Schedule varies 6am – 6pm or 6pm – 6am Salary & Benefits Information The base wage or salary range for this position is $30 - $35.00 per hour. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. What you’ll do: + Organize and prioritize the laboratory work. + Assist in, or conduct, investigations of discrepancies to resolve problems with clients, and to inform management of required corrective action. + Maintain communication with clients and management regarding the status of samples. + Communicate, monitor, and enforce laboratory safety and housekeeping practices + Communicate with management regarding the routine needs of the Laboratory. + Oversee the activities of shipping, receiving, sample retention, and sample disposal. + Provide objective input into technicians' performance reviews. + Assist in the training efforts of the Company. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications: + Should be competent in the routine operation of a petroleum testing laboratory, to have at least 1 year of practical laboratory experience, and to have at least a high school education. + Must be physically able to do the work required. + Should have a positive attitude, a high tolerance for job pressure and long hours, and the ability to work and communicate with persons of diverse personalities and backgrounds. Preferred Requirements & Qualifications: + High school diploma required. College level science and chemistry a plus + A least one-year petroleum laboratory experience + Strong computer skills a plus Intertek: Total Quality. Assured.
