Petroleum Procurement Buyer

Position Overview:
The Petroleum Procurement Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing petroleum products, including gasoline and diesel, for our 130 convenience stores. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the petroleum market, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, supply and demand, and price fluctuations to make informed purchasing decisions.Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain.Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.Inventory Management: Coordinate with store managers and distribution centers to ensure optimal inventory levels and timely deliveries.Quality Assurance: Ensure all petroleum products meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements.Budget Management: Manage purchasing budgets and monitor spending to achieve cost savings and financial targets.Reporting: Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, market conditions, and supplier performance for senior management.Compliance: Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and standards.Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the petroleum industry.Skills:Strong negotiation and communication skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Experience with procurement software and ERP systems is a plus.Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the petroleum market and supply chain management.Attributes:Detail-oriented and highly organized.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong decision-making capabilities and ability to work under pressure.
