Fundamentals

Products: Excipients for small – high molecule drugs (Please refer our website.)Customers: Mainly R&D from Pharmaceutical companies, universities, CDMO, relevant laboratories, Procurements, etc.Operational/Administrative manager: Head of Sales in JapanCommunities: Pharma team in Korea/Japan, Technical service team in region and global, Nutrition and Health division in JapanBusiness trips: Domestic 3~4 times / month, International 1~4 times / year

 

Main Area (% = referable workload which is differed by cases)

Technical Support on external stakeholders: 50%Manage and conduct Sub regional customers and application dialogues to understand needs from a technical perspective.NBD: Take leadership to build up NBD and commercialize. Create the plan and lead the platform activities including customer visits.Convey Sub regional technical key selling arguments ('unique value proposition' (UVP)) of products.Recommend development of meaningful technical product promotion literature based on customer needs, in coordination with the global communication team and the global technical marketing teamSupport sales and distributors with technical product information, application methods and customer complaint resolution. Identify gaps between customer needs and competitors' products to differentiate BASF’s products To assess new products from competitors improving regional market intelligence from a technical perspective.Develop necessary contacts with counterparts within the industry, government agencies, and academic institutionsEnsure compliance with all BASF policies and governmental regulations in the area of Safety, Ecology and Eco Efficiency, Sustainability, and Traceability, as well as regulatory compliance

 

Promotion at seminars, webinars and inhouse: 20%Lead Sub regional seminars/workshops and trainings with customers (including our distributors) to disseminate technical expertise and support sales efforts.

 

Account management: 30% Achieve sales target of both personal and team with the product range for the assigned application segments. In addition, support business development and customer management by identifying potential customers, provision of updated market intelligence to supervisor/team, coordination with customer services/logistics personnel where necessary, assistance in product promotion.Drive customer relationship management including level contact.Take a lead to implement the BASF business strategy at the target accounts.

 

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position

Education: Minimum bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, chemical engineering, biology, or related fields. Ph.D. of Pharmacy is preferred.Working Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in formulation development in in the Pharmaceutical or Bio-pharmaceutical industryTechnical & Professional Knowledge: Demonstrated ability to provide technical solutions for complex problems through product and process knowledge.Communication skill: excellent communication capability with sufficient Japanese and English proficiency
