Job Title: PharmacistJob Description
The Pharmacist plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of prescriptions within the Pharmacy setting. This position involves prescription review and data quality assurance, including verifying medication details and handling communication with healthcare providers. The Pharmacist is also responsible for patient education regarding medication usage and potential side effects.
Responsibilities
+ Review and approve medication orders by interpreting physician orders to ensure correct drug dispensing.
+ Detect therapeutic incompatibilities and communicate with prescribers to confirm dosing and administration.
+ Monitor drug therapies and report adverse events and product complaints in accordance with regulations.
+ Counsel patients on medication usage, potential adverse events, and strategies to minimize issues.
+ Conduct follow-up and counseling as required by regulatory agencies such as REMS.
+ Stay updated on pharmacy laws and complete continuing education to maintain licensure.
+ Ensure compliance with program guidelines and maintain confidentiality of information.
+ Collaborate with call center and program staff to deliver quality products to customers.
+ Provide subject matter expertise and interact with clients for operational process reviews.
+ Supervise and guide staff, providing performance reviews, goal development, and mentoring.
+ Maintain established procedures for quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
+ Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to company policies regarding medication incidents.
Essential Skills
+ Data entry and pharmacy operations
+ PharmD or equivalent degree
+ Current and valid Pharmacist state license in good standing
+ 1 - 2 years of professional experience in a retail or specialty pharmacy setting
+ Knowledge of FDA Health Regulations and pharmacology
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Proficiency with basic computer programs and multitasking abilities
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in specialty pharmacy, PV 1, PV 2
+ High volume experience and prescription review
+ Customer service and call center experience
+ B.S. Pharm degree required; PharmD preferred
+ Attention to detail and focus on quality
Work Environment
This position is based in an onsite, closed-door, mail-order specialty pharmacy, where high-cost and complex specialty drugs are shipped to patients' homes. The pharmacy operates Monday to Friday, with shifts potentially starting as early as 6 am and extending to 10 pm. Onboarding training will last approximately two and a half days, followed by a four-week program-specific training. Training hours are 8:30 am - 5:00 pm EST. Candidates should be available for the entire duration of the training and should not have PTO authorized during this period.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
