Job Summary

The Clinical/Staff Pharmacist is responsible for coordinating, on a day-to-day basis, the provision of high quality, comprehensive pharmaceutical care to the patients of Frye Regional Medical Center in accordance with established regulations and procedures. This includes drug distribution functions as well as clinical activities.

Frye Regional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers.

 

Essential Functions

Interprets medication orders and transcribes to patient medication profiles accuratelyMonitors drug therapy regimens for contraindications, duplications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies, and appropriateness of drug, dose, and frequencyCompounds and dispenses medications including sterile compounds, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition productsReviews/interprets laboratory data for therapy appropriateness and recommends changes as neededInteracts with patients, health care providers, clinics, and prescribers involved with the patientDocuments all clinical activities and interventions accurately and completelyParticipates in the quality improvement and medication use review activities of the department as necessary

Bachelor's Degree Required Doctor of Pharmacy Preferred

Valid NC Pharmacy LicenseBS in Pharmacy or Pharmacy Doctorate
