Job Description:

Job Summary

Assist the Director of Pharmacy in the duties of organizing and providing Pharmaceutical services to all hospital services and disciplines.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Interpret and evaluate physician orders in order to prepare, calculate and dispense appropriate medication dosage forms for inpatient and outpatients

2. Present recommendations for formulary changes to the Director of Pharmacy (recommendations for deletions should include reasons and additions should include a drug review)

3. Supervise generation of computerized MAR’s and ensure their delivery to appropriate units

4. Generate exception report and resolve potential future problems

5. Insure appropriate drug therapy for each patient

Minimum Education, Training and Experience

Active Kentucky Pharmacist License

Recent hospital experience preferred
