Job Overview:

The IT Pharmacist is responsible for managing technology related equipment, information systems, processes and compliance for the pharmacy department as well as supporting the provision of pharmaceutical care to all patient age groups (including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric and neonatal patients).

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor s or doctorate degree in Pharmacy.Current New Jersey State license as Registered Pharmacist in good standing. Minimum three (3) years of hospital pharmacy experience required. Experience with clinical informatics, EPIC, automated dispensing cabinets, and automated inventory carousel technology preferred.Familiarity with all phases of hospital Pharmacy and a working knowledge of public health matters, as well as, Federal and State laws regulating the professional and hospital practice of Pharmacy.Understands the role of the Hospital Pharmacy Department within the hospital and its interrelationships with other departments and functions.Advanced skills with Microsoft applications preferred.

Essential Functions:

Provides guidance, training, support and on-going maintenance of information systems related to the provision of pharmaceutical care.Assists with project planning, installation, testing and maintenance of new pharmacy-related information systems.Manages policies related to information systems and other areas as designated in collaboration with leadership.Serves as a frontline resource for all Pharmacy employees. Assists Director and Assistant Director in meeting the mission and vision to promote patient safety, formulary compliance, cost-effective practice, teamwork, productivity, and positive patient outcomes.Actively participates with external departments at the local and system level to support optimizing patient care and best practice.Provides leadership and direction to Pharmacy team members especially as related to use of information system/technology.Promotes positive relations and actively contributes to a positive work environment.Plans efficient and effective utilization of resources.Assists in planning, monitoring, and maintaining budget in functional area of department.Participates in on call Pharmacy Administrator responsibilities.
