Pharmacist - Outpatient Community Pharmacy - PRN

Fill medication orders/prescriptions, monitor patient drug therapies, counsel patients, document interventions, and provide drug information in compliance with all state and federal laws governing the practice of pharmacy including, standards of Joint Commission.

Our PRN Pharmacists are used as part of our daily/weekly staffing grid as well as for emergency shifts and to cover extended leaves for our full- and part-time staff. PRN availability is communicated with the scheduler and then used to write our schedule for that pay period. Our PRN Pharmacist team is not required to work Saturdays but in rare instances could be asked to cover a shift if needed.

Generally Varies, As-Needed BasisHours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 7:30AM - 8:00PM and Saturdays 8:00AM - 4:00 PMCLOSED: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day andChristmas Day

Qualifications 

Graduation from an accredited college of pharmacyLicense in state of Iowa as a registered pharmacistContinuing education in good standing.

Performance Standards

1.) Dispense medications accurately and timely.

2.) Complete all competence assessment requirements.

3.) Provide courteous and cooperative service to internal and external customers according to service excellence standards.

4.) Document clinical interventions.

5.) Complete daily/monthly medication area inspections.

6.) Communicate with providers, insurance or financial department to help problem solve issues with the prescription, formulary or finances.

7.) Counsel patients on all new prescriptions and answer any questions.

8.) Converse via webcam through translation service to help counsel patients who do not speak English as their primary language.
