Working under the immediate direction of a qualified licensed Staff Pharmacist to gain the practical experience that will enable the pharmacist graduate intern to meet the needs of patients and customers upon graduation in states that offer Intern Pharmacist Licenses.

Receive incoming orders from healthcare providersVerify the legality and pharmaceutical feasibility of dispensing a drug based on patients’ allergies,incompatibilities with current medications, frequency of refills, etc.Interpret prescription orders, to include exercising professional judgment in determining whether to dispense a particular prescriptionCompound IV, topical, and oral medicationsPrepare medications for final dispensing to the patient, including filling, order entry, and packagingTransfer prescriptions to other pharmacies as neededAnswer questions from patients, doctors, nurses, etc.Evaluate inventory levels and place orders when below parOn exception items, look up most cost-effective product to orderNotify customer/facility if product is out of stock and when the order can be filledRestock station supplies as needed – vials, cassettes, labels, delivery tickets, etc.Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as neededEducation and/or Certifications:
High School Diploma or GEDCurrently enrolled in Pharmacy school with status of good standingCurrent Intern Pharmacist License (when applicable)Skills and Qualifications:
1+ years of related experienceAdvanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred/requiredAbility to work independently and deliver to deadlinesAbility to solve problems with minimal directionGreat attention to detail and accuracyAbility to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlinesQuality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurateWork Environment:
