Pharmacist (PRN) - Clarendon

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.

Dispenses medicines and pharmaceutical preparations upon receiving orders from physicians and other qualified health practitioners in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the hospital pharmacy. 

Trains and supervises pharmacy interns, technicians, residents, students and newly hired pharmacists. 

Responsible for accurate order entry of medications into the pharmacy computer. 

Monitors patient medication profiles and furnishes information concerning medications to physicians, nurses and patients.

 Knowledgeable in medications and exhibits the clinical and professional skills to positively interact with physicians, nurses, and other health care practitioners in hospital formulary issues, in-services, rounds, etc. 

Works as a team member with a positive attitude when interacting with other department employees including pharmacy students and residents in addition to other hospital personnel. 

Contributes to the development of the practice of the profession within the institution and participates in the department’s clinical programs. 

Performs all other duties according to McLeod Health policy and procedures.

 

Must have a South Carolina pharmacist license issued by SCLLR.

Previous hospital experience is preferred.
