PHARMACIST STAFF-RETAIL
Overview Performs all functions of pharmaceutical care required of a staff pharmacist. Performs and supervises computer data entry related to patient profile. Monitors all medication dispensing for accuracy. supervises filling of all prescriptions and provides appropriate patient counseling. Collects and analyzes data for process improvement projects. Maintains competencies in federal and state regulations related to pharmacy practice. Responsible for one long-term project involving all the retail pharmacies sharing information, updates, processes with all retail pharmacy partners. Performs other duties as assigned. Hours exceeding 40/week may be required. May be required to take after hours call on a rotation basis. Performs other duties as assigned or as necessity dictates. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintains professionalism and conducts self as a role model, serving as a resource for the other retail pharmacy partners. Staff primarily as a retail pharmacist but may be required to work in other functions of the retail pharmacy operations in support of the department. Is an expert retail pharmacist who relies on skills of comprehensive knowledge and experience. Takes ownership of one long-term retail pharmacy project assuring that the information, data is carried through to all the retail pharmacies. Maintains practice by ongoing professional literature review, continuing education and self-evaluation. Education and Experience Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification and Licensure Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy program Wisconsin license required Illinois license required, if position works in IL Skills and Abilities Computer experience, including internet and email. Strong accuracy skills Excellent interpretive/analytical skills for pharmaceutical calculations for drug dosage, IV rates, etc. Special Physical Demands The Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Level of Supervision Some independent judgment is required, but alternatives are limited by standard practices or procedures. Supervises Indirectly supervises technicians. This position is involved in the recruitment and orientation process and provides performance feedback and input for performance evaluation purposes. May implement coaching, counseling, and corrective action when needed. Supervisory responsibilities are conducted in accordance with directives of management, the organization's policies, and applicable laws.
