**_About the job_**
The Pharmacoepidemiologist will report to the Head of Pharmacoepidemiology – General Medicine. This unit is part of the Global Patient Safety and Pharmacovigilance Department – Global R&D within Sanofi.
The pharmacoepidemiology provides expertise and support to marketed and investigational products in the General Medicine Unit at Sanofi. Areas of focus include Central Nervous System (CNS), Rheumatology, Cardiology, Diabetes, Renal, Anti-infective and Oncology.
More specifically, the Pharmacoepidemiologist designs and leads the implementation of post-authorization safety studies required by Regulatory authorities and other pharmacoepidemiology studies for internal and external use, and provides pharmacoepidemiology expertise within Global Pharmacovigilance Department (Global safety officer, PV Scientist and others) and collaborates with other functions (Medical, Clinical, Regulatory, and others) within the company in order to align with product strategy.

**Main responsibilities:**
+ Lead the development of pharmacoepidemiological studies and observational post-authorisation safety studies (PASSs), including design, conduct and interpretation in close collaboration with functions as needed (e.g. Global Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs)
+ Support Global Pharmacovigilance safety analysis activities and conduct epidemiological literature review and/or analysis for signal evaluation and interpretation. Prepare the pharmacoepidemiologic section of the Risk Management Plan(s) pertaining to drug safety and formulate pharmacoepidemiology studies/action plan as appropriate. Prepare responses to questions to health authorities regarding pharmacoepidemiology (epidemiological literature or epidemiological studies). Participate in Advisory Committee preparation
+ Active participation in industry workshops and groups is anticipated and which will involve leadership on key initiatives and working groups as well as cross-collaboration with experts from academic, industry, and government organizations
+ Advise on pharmacoepidemiological principles including guidance on epidemiological study design to others within the R&D organization (including critiques of published studies or papers, critiques of statistical analysis plans for retrospective or prospective epidemiological studies, contextualizing signals identified through reporting of adverse events)
+ Conduct epidemiological analyses that contribute to benefit-risk assessments of select products including synthesis of evidence on the real-world safety of products in the Specialty Care Business Unit
**_About you_**
**Experience:**
+ Relevant work experience in industry (or equivalent experience in academic setting)
+ Extensive experience in the design and conduct of epidemiological studies
**Technical skills:**
+ In-depth knowledge of pharmacoepidemiology methods and data sources
+ Good understanding in statistics or biostatistics
**Soft skills:**
+ Ability to clearly communicate complex epidemiologic issues to both the scientific community and general public
**Education:**
+ PhD in epidemiology or MD/MPH or MD/PhD in epidemiology
**Languages:**
+ Written and verbal communication proficiency in English, including the presentation of data
