Overview Performs duties of Pharmacy Technician levels I,II, and III, as needed. Works overtime when needed. Performs other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager and Director. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintains purchasing records of drugs dispensed in the hospital and drugs dispensed to all outlying clinics. Documents all supply transactions electronically. Processes invoices online through the McKesson Supply Management program. Approves invoices for payment to the Pharmacy manager. Processes clinic drug charges and hospital department charges. Executes pharmaceutical materials management procedures to optimize inventory levels while monitoring inventory turns and contract compliance. Manages par-levels, stock rotation, drug availability, drug substitutions, drug representatives, drug recall, drug destruction and return of product for credit. Executes all emergency drug procurement procedures for the health system. Maintains inventory based on the current purchasing contract. Recommends drug substitutions to hospital and clinic personnel as contracts change. Performs annual inventory procedures, calculations, and reporting. In addition to duties above all duties of a technician position. Education and Experience 10 years of pharmacy technician experience at a certified level with extensive purchasing responsibilities.
