If you aren’t local and haven’t already discovered this, check out www.northwestarkansas.org to see why NWA keeps winning awards as a best place to live. **Job Summary** Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement of pharmaceuticals and related supplies by ensuring the availability of necessary medications while adhering to budgetary constraints and regulatory requirements. This role is critical to supporting patient care and operational efficiency within the pharmacy. **Essential Functions** + **Procurement:** Oversees the purchasing of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and equipment, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. + **Vendor Management:** Maintains relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure favorable pricing and terms while ensuring quality and reliability of products. + **Inventory Management:** Monitors stock levels, track usage patterns, and conduct regular inventory audits to prevent shortages or excess inventory, optimizing inventory turnover. + **Budget Oversight:** Assists in budget preparation and management, analyzing purchasing trends and expenditures to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. + **Compliance:** Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies regarding the procurement and storage of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. + **Reporting:** Prepares reports on purchasing activities, inventory levels, and budget status for management review, providing insights and recommendations as needed. + **Collaboration:** Works closely with pharmacy staff, clinical teams, and other departments to understand their needs and ensure timely access to required medications and supplies. + **Process Improvement:** Identify opportunities for improving procurement processes and inventory management systems, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency. + Performs other duties as assigned. + Complies with all policies and standards. **Qualifications** + Other Completion of Certified Pharmacy Technician Program CPhT required + 1-2 years hospital pharmacy technician experience required + 2-4 years hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, medication dispensing, and regulatory standards. + .Demonstrates computer skills, calculations, arithmetic, English, and grammar + Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. + Proficiency in pharmacy software and technology. **Licenses and Certifications** + LPT - Licensed Pharmacy Tech State Pharmacy Technician Registration/Licensure required and + Pharmacy Technician Certification Board certification preferred and + BCLS - Basic Life Support BLS Certification preferred **We are an Equal Opportunity Employer (M/F/M/V) and welcome you to apply.** Equal Employment Opportunity This organization does not discriminate in any way to deprive any person of employment opportunities or otherwise adversely affect the status of any employee because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, genetic information, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, citizenship, veteran status, or military or uniformed services, in accordance with all applicable governmental laws and regulations.
