JOB SUMMARY
The Pharmacy Buyer Technician assists Marshfield Clinic staff to obtain medications needed in their practice, fills orders as placed by departments, and assists them with their medication supply questions. The Pharmacy Buyer Technician makes decisions regarding sourcing and obtaining of pharmaceuticals for the system and sets up new accounts as needed. The Pharmacy Buyer Technician is vital to maintaining a cost effective pharmaceutical supply chain for the Marshfield Clinic System and ensuring contract compliance and cost effective purchasing decisions.

Mon-Fri; 8:00am - 4:30pm (May include weekends as needed)
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: High School graduate or equivalent
Preferred/Optional: Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician School preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Two years in hospital pharmacy, retail pharmacy or inventory management related experience. Experience with microcomputers required.
Preferred/Optional: Experience with pharmaceutical purchasing and inventory management is preferred. Experience with Wisconsin Pharmacy Law and Third Party Reimbursement rules preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required:
Pharmacy Technician registration or licensure or an application for pharmacy technician registration or licensure will be accepted if it is in pending status by the first date of employment. Registration/licensure must be obtained within 6 months. Registration/licensure must remain in good standing and current.
*Security Health Plan employees do not have this minimum requirement.
Preferred/Optional: Certified pharmacy technician preferred.
