Responsibilities

Under direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator oversees daily pharmacy department activities related to clinical services and makes necessary adjustments to assure quality, safety and productivity standards are maintained. The Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator participates in various committees such as Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, Infection Prevention Committee, Stroke/Trauma Committee and Safety Committee as assigned. This position oversees the Epic functions, therapeutic substitution compliance as well formulary management. Additional responsibilities include development & update of clinical policies & procedures, training & supervision of pharmacist staff, performance evaluation feedback for the pharmacist staff, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to help improve pharmacy workflow and throughput. The Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator also provides leadership, motivation, and educational opportunities to the pharmacy department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
 
1. Current state Registered Pharmacist License.
2. B.S. degree in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
3. 3-5 years of previous hospital pharmacy experience required.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
5. Experience with hospital pharmacy computer systems, spreadsheets, word processing programs, and other databases required.
6. Completion of postgraduate clinical training (PGY-1) or > 3 years of qualifying experience required.
7. Postgraduate clinical training PGY-2 preferred.
8. Board certification in a Board of Pharmacy Specialties clinical specialty strongly preferred.
