The Pharmacy Coordinator is responsible for assisting the pharmacists in properly dispensing medications to patients in a non-retail setting.

Responsibilities

Provide exemplary customer service the meeting the standards of McKesson Canada; customer interaction is largely done via phone/emailBilling prescriptions through pharmacy software ensuring all required documentation is adequate and appropriate including (but not limited to) accounts receivables, dosage and dosing intervals, third party billing restrictions, scheduled appointment dates, clinic locations, copayment management, coordination of benefits, assignment of benefitsCreating patient files in pharmacy softwareManaging site calendars, appointment changes, dispensing and shipping schedulesAccurately dispensing medications to ensure arrival to the appropriate destination on timePatient follow-up calls for outstanding accounts (ensuring that all medical questions are referred to a pharmacist)Packaging medications according to specifications for shipment to customers

General Responsibilities

Adherence to all relevant guidelines including the established Standard Operation procedures and all applicable regulatory requirementsInventory management and reconciliationMonitoring of site temperatures when available and reporting any variances directly to the Operations managerEffectively communicate with both external and internal contactsDeveloping and maintaining professional relationships with health care professionals, reimbursement coordinators, infusion coordinators, provincial ministries of health and private payersAccurate data entry into various systems.

Minimum Requirement

Typically requires 3+ years of related experience

Additional Skills:

Experience in Specialty pharmacy setting an asset, but not requiredUnderstanding of 3rd party billingQuick learner, adjusting quickly to a fast-paced environmentClear communication (both written and verbal)Good problem-solving skillsTeam playerExperience working with MS Office SuitThis position requires a significant degree of taking direction quickly, self-starting and independence

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$43,000 - $71,600
