Pharmacy Coordinator - Clinics & Surgery Center Oncology & Infusion

Fairview Pharmacy has an immediate opening for a Float Pharmacy Coordinator at our Oncology Pharmacy, located in the Clinic and Surgery Center right by the University of Minnesota campus. You will travel to cover Southdale, Maple Grove, and Burnsville's infusion centers. This is a 1.0 FTE, day shift position with a limited weekend rotation. Click here to find information about tuition reimbursement, medical, dental, retirement benefits and more: Non-Contract Employees Benefits - Fairview Health Services The Pharmacy Coordinator works directly with pharmacy patients, medical and nursing staff to handle help navigate patient medication needs. This includes: building and maintaining professional relationships with providers, patients, families, insurers, other units, and staff, coordinating workflow, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, anticipating business needs to assist in the growth and success of the business, inventory control and complex compounding and distribution of pharmaceuticals, IV solutions and documentation as ordered by prescribers. Responsibilities Job Description Maintain the IV hoods or isolators, clean room, ante room according to manufacturer’s specifications and regulatory requirements as applicable by location and/or business need. Maintain ACLS medication supply and inventory for onsite EMT services Use Epic functionality of compounding/repackaging for anticipatory compounded Maintain automated dispense systems for the site including inventory management and regulatory compliance. Coordinate cell therapy treatments including specialized ordering, stocking of supportive care medications and emergency medications. Handle complex drug inventories for clinics and the onsite surgery center. Under the direction of the pharmacist, receive prescription/orders from patients, process manually or using the appropriate computer system and protocols, prepare drug therapy and/or dispense medication in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with all legal, regulatory agency and Fairview requirements. Complex compounding including intraocular injections, complex cancer treatments, investigational drugs, all home infusion pumps, eye drops for retail pharmacy, intradermal cytotoxic agents, intrathecal chemotherapy, ambulatory surgery center medications including ON-Q pumps, serial dilutions for cytotoxic desensitization, pyelocaliceal cytotoxic gels and liposomal medication formulations. Act as a subject matter authority in third party regulations and billing guidelines. Assist in resolving any billing issues and calling out as appropriate. Qualifications One year of pharmacy technician experience is a requirement for this position. Registered Technician with Minnesota Board of Pharm. and/or Registered Intern with the Minnesota Board of Pharm.
