Major Responsibilities:
Organizes and directs a comprehensive program of pharmaceutical services.Supervises and leads pharmacy department personnel in meeting service, quality, and financial targets and needs.Plans, implements, reviews, and revises relevant policies, procedures, programs and practices to meet professional and institutional goals.Actively participates and provides leadership on all assigned committees and projects.Establishes and maintains productive and respectful working relationships with all departments and personnel.Standard Management Level Responsibilities:
Directs and supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities.Develops and recommends the budgets for the areas managed. Manages activities to assure financial goals are met.Coordinates the assignment of tasks and helps resolve technical and operational problems. UMass Memorial is a comprehensive care provider for the region that has all of the high complexity disease states; Critical Care, Neonates, Med/Surg, Cardiology, Surgery, Pediatrics, Solid Organ Transplant, Heme/ONC, BMT and more. The Acute Care Operations Pharmacy Director will lead a talented team of 2 Direct Reports together overseeing a team of over 90 caregiver FTE's that deliver optimal pharmaceutical care to Worcester County. In addition to overseeing the Pharmacy Operation, this Pharmacy Director would partner with internal departments on strategic direction, operational optimization efforts and a primary role with nursing and other operational departments.
This role will be joining the organization during a growth phase including an off-site consolidated service center coming on line and technological investments like IV Cameras and centers of excellence relationships with market leading vendors.
