Position Overview: The Director of Pharmacy oversees all aspects of pharmacy operations including regulatory compliance and financial performance. Position Highlights: + Schedule : Monday - Friday + Starting Rate: $61.78 + per hour (commensurate with experience) + Retirement Benefits: NC Local Government Pension Plan (5-year vesting period) + Loan Forgiveness: Eligible employer for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) + Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and various supplemental benefits available Key Responsibilities: •Oversees the daily operations of the pharmacy department, including dispensing, compounding, inventory management, and medication therapy management. •Develops and implements pharmacy policies, procedures, and protocols in compliance with federal and state regulations and industry standards. •Collaborates with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy outcomes and promotes evidence-based prescribing practices. •Negotiates contracts with pharmaceutical suppliers and vendors to secure competitive pricing terms. •Oversees the implementation and compliance of the 340B Drug Pricing Program, ensuring adherence to program requirements and guidelines. •Serves as a co-leader of the antimicrobial stewardship committee and assists in the development, education, and communication of infectious disease-related protocols and interventions to improve antibiotic decision support at Granville Medical Center. •Leads the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) committee meetings to evaluate and make recommendations on formulary management and utilization; collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to assess the safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness of medications. •Follows Pharmacy policy and procedure in accordance with the hospital policies. •Processes information on the hospital's information system as required in performing job responsibilities. •Assumes responsibility for supervising pharmacy personnel and students assigned within the department. •Activates repairs and controls work progress within those areas of designated responsibility. •Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications •Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy; Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred. •Must have active North Carolina Pharmacy License. •At least five (5) years of pharmacy experience. •Must meet or exceed continuing education requirements set by the N.C. Board of Pharmacy, Joint Commission, and Granville Health System. •Strong knowledge of methods and procedures for the procurement of medications; knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical principles, drug therapy, and medication management practices. •Knowledge of budgetary and accounting principles •Maintains knowledge of laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the provision of hospital pharmacy services and accreditation standards for hospital pharmacy. •Analytical and problem-solving skills. •Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy. •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred: Previous clinical and management experience in hospital pharmacy preferred. Experience with Omnicell, Meditech and QS1 preferred.
