Roles and Responsibilities
o\tDirector will be responsible for creating the vision and direction for pharmacy oncology and infusion areas and facilitating pursuit of best practices
o\tSkills required for this role include leadership through influence, prioritization, pharmacy management expertise, leading process changes, implementing strategies improve safety, and facilitating a culture of safety in partnership with department of pharmacy leaders
o\tDemonstrates the highest level of professionalism in all activities, as measured by a concern for patient care, the ability to listen and cooperate, demonstrating flexibility, the ability to help others within and across departments and teams, and the ability to set and achieve goals
o\tOversight of ambulatory infusion pharmacy practice at UVA for oncology and non-oncology infusion centers
o\tDevelops goals, objectives, measures policies and procedures for areas of oversight
o\tResponsible for facilitating compliance with local, state, federal, and organizational requirements, and coordinating accreditation/inspection readiness activities in partnership with department of pharmacy leaders
o\tCollaborates with all levels of health care professionals to provide safe and effective care
o\tDevelops and leads proactive implementation of best practices, technology, and automation to support pharmacy clinical operations
o\tCollaborate with key service line leaders to support University Hospital
o\tParticipates in the development of policies and procedures related to pharmacy operations, applicable pharmacy accreditation standards and compliance with federal and state rules and regulations
o\tDevelops talent and coaches peers and others to develop their capabilities
o\tHolds staff accountable for meeting external and/or internal customer’s needs.

Position Compensation Range: $141,169.60 - $225,867.20 AnnualMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Pharmacy degree required (Masters and/or Pharm.D.) from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy. Master's degree must be obtained within 4 years of hire or transfer.
Experience: Minimum 3 years progressive experience in pharmacy practice and pharmacy management. Specialized residency training in pharmacy administration will be considered in lieu of experience.
Licensure: Licensed to practice as a Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
