Summary of Job Duties:Under the direction of the Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer, the Informaticist is responsible for the oversight and execution of the planning, implementing, supporting, and optimizing data extraction, processing, report application development, and analysis for Pharmacy programs. The primary focus of the Informaticist is to support the operational efficiency of the Specialty/OPC Pharmacy and 340B program by coordinating fiscal management activities, performing data analysis, ensure integrity of data feeds to vendors and manufactures while maintaining departmental statistics and reports. This role is responsible for developing, preparing and maintaining quality data analytics that will be utilized by leadership and management across various settings and promote new opportunities for pharmacy, thus enhancing efficiency and resulting in optimal revenue for pharmacy. Data base development, project management, cost accounting, and IT skills will be employed to work with clinical pharmacists, residents, medical staff, and pharmacy administration. The employee is responsible for evaluation and implementation of existing tools through reporting and analytics with a focus on expanding machine learning capabilities. The individual will provide oversight of reporting for the department supporting clinical, retail, operational, and specialty pharmacy.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a Pharm.D Plus Three (3) years of working knowledge of one or more hospital electronic medical record (EMR) vendors, such as EPIC, Cerner, Meditech, or Allscripts, relational database, Epic Clarity report writing, designing and developing packages to transfer data from source to destinations using ETL processes

One (1) year of Business Intelligence Visualization Tool such as (Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik) experience -

Certification as a licensed Registered Pharmacist by the State of Arkansas or eligible for licensure by the State of Arkansas

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven programming experience in one or more programming languages is required.

Strong SQL coding skills, visualization building, and data analytics experience.

Responsibilities:

Provide guidance regarding the availability data from various sources to requesting customers

Provide insight on best practices to accomplish data-related goals

Make recommendations on potential metrics to determine financial, operation, clinical, and quality metric goal performance

(Example of goals: revenue integrity, reimbursement analysis, patient outcome analysis, systems

integration progress, & accreditation targets)

Provide insight on key factors affecting pharmacy performance and provide solutions to improve target performance

Develop SQL code to extract requested pharmacy data from Electronic Health Record database

Integrate data from other databases (vendors, third parties, and internal sources) to provide further insight

Create, publish, and maintain report dashboard applications to allow self-service reporting for pharmacy leadership on the medication use process (ordering, verification, dispensing, administration, charging, and monitoring

Lead meetings related to data needs to drive data outcomes related to operational goals

Attend Pharmacy leadership meetings to provide insight on data availability and analysis opportunities

Serve on institutional committees where pharmacy informatics data analytics is essential to committee

function.

Present identified revenue improvement/expansion opportunities to pharmacy leadership

Communicate with stakeholders to answer questions and requests related to data needs

Serve as residency rotation preceptor (as requested)

Serve as Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience preceptor for College of Pharmacy students (as requested) committing to at least a 3 month availability for learners.

Participate in pharmacy residency program development/leadership

Project Management:

Manage projects related to the data analysis needs of pharmacy.

Ensure key stakeholders are updated on project progress

Develop reports as needed to demonstrate progress in project development and monitoring related to project success

Other duties as assigned.
