Pharmacy Informatics and Regulatory Compliance Technician

Collaborates with Information Systems Support Analysts to plan, develop, implement, maintain and use Pharmacy related systems. Responsible for education to pharmacy and nursing department with information Systems. In charge of running QA data report for pharmacy and nursing department. May also act as a Pharmacy Technician to provide timely and accurate pharmaceutical care, including procurement, storage, preparation and distribution of medications and IV solutions. **Job Description** : **JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:** TECHNICAL SUPPORT: • Serves as a resource for information inquiries regarding all technical aspects of the pharmacy and related systems and provides support to staff for systems-related issue resolution and optimization. • Resolves pharmacy electronic system errors and assists with revenue integrity. • Work with stakeholders to insure successful deployment of selected technology solutions and integration into pharmacy workflow. • Coordinates testing and implementation of all Pharmacy-related systems and upgrades and assists in the appropriate orientation, training and competency assessment of pharmacy staff as it relates to pharmacy informatics as directed. • Accountable for collaborating with Information Systems team on Pharmacy System enhancements and maintenance by collecting and providing information, documenting observations that support system enhancement planning and implementation. COMMUNICATION: • Escalate appropriate issues to the Pharmacy PM to work with all local stake holders to monitor compliance with regulations and achieve success of the project overall. • Partner with the other system Pharmacy Project Manager (PM) and Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) to implement standardized policies, products, equipment, materials, and workflows wherever appropriate. • Responsible for attending hospital leadership meetings to provide recommendations as it relates to Pharmacy Information System updates and report on audit report findings. QUALITY: • Audits automated dispensing device, IV pump, electronic medical record system, and all pharmacy related maintenance technology system use to evaluate appropriateness and accountability. • Act as a liaison between Pharmacy, Nursing and Medicine department to resolve, educate, answers all Pharmacy Informatics System related questions. • Implement new pharmacy policies, procedures, and workflow changes to integrate new facility and technology with existing staff processes. • Review each project in-depth to schedule deliverables and maintain timelines. **EDUCATION** Other: Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program. **CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:** PHARMC-Certified Pharmacy Technician OR PHRMTECHR-Registered Pharmacy Technician **TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:** 2 years of recent experience. **SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:** Must demonstrate analytical skills in gathering information, defining and identifying problems, and resolving problems. Must be specialized in Pharmacy Informatics System including but not limited to EPIC, Pyxis machine, Guardrails software, Alaris pump system, etc. Must be able to communicate in writing and follow written instructions. Knowledge of medical terminology, generic and trade pharmaceutical names, pharmaceutical calculations and laws and regulations. Knowledge and understanding of different Pharmacy practice settings, including narcotic delivery procedures. Pay Range is $38.97 to $48.70 / hour _The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
