Position Summary
An Informatics Pharmacist works in the build, implementation, and maintenance of automation and technology to optimize pharmacy practice, pharmacy systems, and the medication use process. Specializes in the medication process, from ordering to administration, and is responsible for effective process design, development, and implementation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), infusion pump libraries and Clinical Decision Support.
Primary (Essential) Duties\:
Supports pharmacists and pharmacy technicians as the resource for requests related to EMR and pharmacy system changes and additions as it pertains to SJRMC Pharmacy Department.In tandem with EMR education support, informaticist will provide EMR related staff education/trainingThe informatics pharmacists will also be responsible for all Control Check audits and support hospital wide in collaboration with the hospital nurse leaders and the DOP.The informatics pharmacist will work together with the DOP in maintain charge codes and daily resolution of ePars for billing expediency.Develops clinic and service guidelines\\pathways with nursing and allied healthcare professionals to support the programs goals and initiatives.Monitors and supports workflow design and functionality based on metrics of performance and FTE usage in the department.Pharmacy informatics specialist will work extensively with EMR in the following ways\:Modify order sets,Load formulary service vendor information,Trouble shoot external prescription generation issues,Maintain pharmacy and other IT related functionsCoordinate EMR order sets with infusion pump librariesThis will be an on-site position with some remote working opportunities.
