Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups. Responsibilities The pharmacy intern ensures that patient care is maintained under the supervision of a Clinical or Staff Pharmacist through compliance with the department's policies, rules and regulations promulgated by the Board of Pharmacy, and other applicable regulatory bodies. This entry-level position is designed to develop the knowledge base and competency level of the Pharmacist Intern while performing pharmacy functions under the direct supervision of a Clinical or Staff Pharmacist. Functions performed as an intern include, but are not limited to: interdisciplinary patient care rounds, admission medication history, medication counseling and patient education, drug information, drug dosing, drug preparation and drug distribution. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Must have completed 30 credit hours of work towards a professional degree in pharmacy. Knowledge of medical terminology desired Previous pharmacy experience desired Knowledge of medical terminology desired General knowledge of Pharmacy Care modalities, terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, terminology, drug use and aseptic techniques, standards and equipment.
