Pharmacy Inventory Analyst

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Pharmacy Inventory Analyst supports FreseniusRx in the purchasing of inventory stored at multiple pharmacy locations, analyzes and interprets utilization to update assumptions related to purchasing volumes and works directly with wholesalers, manufacturers and third-party fulfillment providers to ensure that FreseniusRx maintains adequate inventory levels of all products at all times. The Pharmacy Inventory Analyst will also work closely with the accounting and financial analysis groups in all matters related to reporting of financial information including month end close processes, regular updating of forecast and budget assumptions and ad-hoc reporting. The Pharmacy Inventory Analyst supports the Inventory Manager in matters related to system updates and maintenance and the resolution of any delivery exceptions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Developing professional expertise in the areas of pharmacy inventory management and procurement; applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.Prepare Purchase Orders for procurement of inventory based on Inventory Manager guidance, individual judgement and purchase forecasts.Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of a variety of factors.  Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.Prepare regular reviews of inventory movement including Inventory Turnover and QoH analysis.Work with third-party fulfillment providers to maintain accurate listing of lot numbers and expirations of all products.Support Inventory Manager in the ongoing maintenance of system pricing and catalogs.Builds productive working relationships with pharmacy operations and finance groups.Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.Provide bid and contract proposal analysis.Work with third-party fulfillment providers to reconcile discrepancies.Develop and maintain strong relationships with all outside parties.Prepares and maintains inventory invoice packets for approval by management and transmission to Centralized AP.Performs analysis to support Pharmacy Inventory projects and collaborates with cross functional teams to ensure all analysis needs are met.Improve existing inventory analysis and reporting tools and methodologies.Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree preferred in finance, business, science/engineering or related field

 

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:       

2 - 5 years' related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent directly related work experience.Healthcare and/or Pharmaceutical experience a plus.Strong Excel skills desired along with a demonstrated desire to further develop analytical skillsAbility to work independentlyUnderstanding of financial metrics and their impact on overall profitability.Familiarity with supply chain management concepts.Possess strong problem solving skills.Strong, clear communication skills.Ability to read, write and verbally articulate pharmaceutical product inventory issues.Ability to comfortably review and present financial information.Able to handle stressful situations without disrupting work performance on projects.
