Risk Strategies Consulting (RSC) is seeking an accomplished pharmacy consultant with a financial background to support, drive, and influence RSC’s client strategic initiatives. This is a client facing, strategic role which entails delivering actionable insights utilizing financial data, trends, and well-founded assumptions. The ideal candidate would have a proven background working in the Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBM) underwriting environment and should possess a deep understanding of all PBM revenue streams and supply chain dynamics. In addition, the candidate must be an expert in how contract terms and conditions can impact financial bids.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a pharmacy consultant lead on assigned accounts to support and help execute on client’s strategic initiatives.Own the relationship with strategic clients, vendors, and partners.Interpret significant industry events and regulation changes for how they may impact short-term and long-term trends.Work in close collaboration with clinical counterparts to accurately evaluate market dynamics and their impact on overall performance.Oversee the development and maintenance of financial models that explore PBM financial performance and trend, compare that performance to contracted terms and historical performance, and forecast future performance.Review current and/or prospective PBM contracts and provide recommendations on defined terms, language, and financial guarantees and exclusions.Consult with key client stakeholders on the benefits and implications of different PBM financial arrangements.Prepare, analyze, and present the results of PBM RFPs, Renewals, and Market Checks with a focus on the financial terms and evaluation of pricing proposals.Create financial benchmarks to measure and contextualize claims data from various sources.Develop responses to RFPs to provide consulting services for new businesses.Develop and manage processes that ensure the accuracy and quality of products produced by the Pharmacy Practice.Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, mathematics, economics, or another highly analytical field5+ years’ experience in the PBM industry with an in-depth knowledge of pharmacy pricing and PBM underwriting activities.5+ years of proven success working in a strategic client-facing role.5+ years’ experience in client contracting analysis, preferably with a focus in the healthcare industry.5+ years’ experience developing and executing financial models.Strong technical skills, particularly with SQL, Azure Synapse, and Tableau.At Risk Strategies Company, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off and paid holidays for eligible employees. The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base pay range for this position is between $147,000 - $175,000 annually. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
