Pharmacy Rebate Analyst

HealthPartners is Pharmacy Rebate Analyst. This position is responsible for the management and maintenance of the Pharmaceutical Rebate Program under the direction of the Pharmaceutical Contract Relations Program Manager. This position works autonomously with other internal departments and external partners, including pharmaceutical manufacturers, to ensure operational excellence for the Pharmaceutical Rebate Program.

ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

Enters pharmaceutical rebate agreements and amendments in Compliance 360.

Enters rebate agreements and amendments to the Rebate Processing System (RPS) and maintains market baskets with weekly NDC process.

Completes Formulary review each quarter on all contracted products to determine rebate eligibility.

Partners with Health Informatics to verify rebate eligibility of claims and rebate calculations.

Pulls and moves quarterly Commercial and Medicare Formulary PDFs for invoicing packages.

Works with Finance weekly on rebate payments deposits.

Reconciles rebate payment discrepancies between Finance reports and General Ledger reports.

Imports invoice Allocations Load Files to Pharmacy Rebate Tracking Systems.

Enters quarterly manufacturer rebate payments in the Pharmacy Rebate Tracking Systems (RTS).

Manages reconciliation process for rebate payments. Analyze payment discrepancies and works with pharmaceutical manufacturers and contracted pharmacies on resolution.

Compiles all ineligible excluded claims and/or duplicate claims into the quarterly exclusions reports.

Provides required monthly and quarterly rebate reports for Finance and other internal clients.

Coordinates set-up of EFT payments with pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Collaborates with IS&T and Health Informatics to resolve manufacturer quarterly rebate submission issues. Delivers invoice packages via SharePoint for manufacturers who cannot receive FTP.

Moves all EDI Delivery email notices to its respective folders once invoice submissions are delivered.

Manages rebate reports and settlement payments to Employer Groups process. Coordinates with Health Informatics and the Pharmaceutical Contract Relations Program Manager to provide monthly and quarterly rebate reports and settlements to Employer Groups.

Facilitates pharmaceutical manufacturer audits.

Maintains professional working relationship with pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Co-presents Rebates 101 to pharmacy students/residents along with ad hoc requests.

Attends appropriate internal and external meetings.

Completes ad hoc and required analysis around rebate strategies.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Pharmaceutical Contract Relations Program Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare, business, accounting, or related field, and/or completion of a pharmacy technician program

Minimum of three years pharmacy and/or managed care related experience (e.g., pharmacy technician, rebate analyst, accounting, or other pharmacy support position)

Proficiency in math and analysis

Strong computer skills working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Pivot tables

Exceptional analytical skills.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

DECISION-MAKING: 

Makes decisions either alone or in conjunction with the Pharmaceutical Contract Relations Program Manager on rebate program systems and processes. May require additional review by or assistance from the Pharmaceutical Contract Relations Program Manager for custom rebate reporting requests and further explanation of rebate agreement terms to complete certain tasks.
