GENERAL SUMMARY:
Location: Detroit
Shift: Full Time Day Shift 40 Hour
This position will report to the Director of Pharmacy, System Operations and work collaboratively with all areas of the Centralized Pharmacy Service Center (CPSC) including but not limited to, clinical services, technology, automation, and business services. The preferred candidate will have experience with project management, leading teams, automation design and implementation, interface development, data base development and maintenance, optimizing workflows, facilities construction quality assurance and analytical abilities. Prior expertise with EPIC, Pyxis, Power BI, Exel, and RxWorks is preferred. Prior experience with Pharmacy application integration and onboarding new Pharmacy applications is preferred.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to fulfilling all other duties and responsibilities of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Specialist CPSC Integration will -:
Collaborates on development and maintenance of pharmacy system standards. Assists users with the evaluation and selection of pharmacy applications, hardware, and software. Collaborates on the development of project plans for CPSC pharmacy systems integration and optimization. Develops and maintains test plans for designated pharmacy systems. Assists in the development of effective standard operating procedures related to the incorporation of Pharmacy technology systems throughout the HF Pharmacy Enterprise. Collaborates on the development of CPSC warehouse operations for current and future JV integrations, service expansions and optimizations. Facilitates the implementation of approved projects for the CPSC warehouse and pharmacy systems. Facilitates the development of policy and procedures for CPSC warehouse operations and pharmacy systems. Coordinates and connects with stakeholders of approved CPSC projects to ensure timely and successful completion of said projects. Collaborates with the pharmacy clinical services team to gather and analyze drug utilization data within EPIC to optimize the HFH drug formulary, drug guidelines, and patient outcomes. Evaluates EPIC, Pyxis, and RxWorks data to identify medication, operational and financial workflow improvements. Evaluates and advises on pharmacy related regulations, laws, and professional standards to ensure best practice for CPSC operations.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Must hold a degree from an accredited college of pharmacy Minimum of 3-5 years of pharmacist experience or the equivalent training and experience at another institution, preferred. Must be able to serve as an institutional authority in a given specialty practice area. Must have demonstrable leadership abilities and exhibit teamwork when working with others. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills which enable him/her to contribute effectively in the dissemination of information to all levels of health care personnel in the institution. Should have a proven research/publication record. Must be qualified to work with pharmacy students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Must have a previous work history of reliability, dependability, and willingness to assume additional responsibilities.
