Qualifications:
Certified Technicians (CPhT) shall hold a current valid certification by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).Non-certified technicians must have 6 months of experience (unless otherwise authorized by the respective CMOP) in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting; or be a graduate of an Academic Technician Training Educational Program. Not all pharmacy technicians will be required to be certified or registered (unless required by State Guidelines); however, certification is highly encouraged as several processes and certain equipment will require certified technicians.Certified Technician (CPhT) with a current valid certification by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).The use of non-certified technicians to fill a Lead Pharmacy Technician position must be approved in writing by the CO.Have demonstrated experience or knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations and receiving processesCore Duties:
Prepares and dispenses medications, and maintains related records for patients.Prepares, packages, labels, and distributes medication doses prescribed by physician.Maintains inventories of drugs and supplies, stocking shelves, rotating stock, and checking expiration date of pharmaceuticals.Read computer screens, use scanning equipment, select specific drugs/products required to fill an order by name, strength, and National Drug Code (NDC) number.Supervisory tasks include day to day administration of assigned operational area (production floor) and to coordinate activities with other productions areas.Orient new contract technicians and assist with the evaluating performanceWork Schedule:
