JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting the pharmacist in preparing all pharmaceutical dosage forms, except those prepared by the IV Trained technician and those dosages requiring the specialized skills of the pharmacist. The position prepares dosage forms and prescriptions to the point of "final check" approval by the pharmacist and prepares patient medication safely and effectively in addition to maintaining the drug inventory and patient records; under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. All duties are carried out only by a registered pharmacist. This position is responsible for distributing medications throughout the organization.

This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education/Training/Experience: REQUIRED: High School Graduate or equivalent Computational skills are a must Excellent typing skills a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills PREFERRED: Completion of Pharmacy Technician Training Course preferred Prior training and experience in pharmacy, particularly hospital pharmacy admixture program highly preferred License/Certifications/Special Requirements: Illinois registration as a Pharmacy Technician as well as Missouri registration if applicable Certification by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or equivalent unless exempted by the state of Illinois due to Grandfathering Pay Status: NON-EXEMPT HOURLY
