Pharmacy Tech Non Certified - Pharmacy - PRN

This position is responsible for the accurate assistance of pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to both in-patients and out-patients.  Computer entry and processing of patient drug orders; sterile and non-sterile preparations of liquids and solid dosage forms; care and ordering of supplies and equipment; training of trainees; processing of admittance, discharge and transfer of patient drugs; performing miscellaneous related tasks.


 

Education: Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent and exhibit proficiency in patient care and oral communication skills. 

Experience: Desirable characteristics include a proficiency in written and verbal communications, mathematical calculations, typing of not less than 40 words per minute, computer literate, possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with the public; and an ability to perform within time frame without loss of accuracy. Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given.

Licenses/Certificates: The Alabama Board of Pharmacy must license the candidate, which is contingent upon becoming certified by the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within 6 months of employment. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT),  Alabama Board of Pharmacy licensure.
