We seek a Pharmacy Technician to support all functions of the Genoa mental health and specialty pharmacy primarily through dispensing medical prescriptions and performing necessary clerical duties while under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Hours:  Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm (lunch 12pm – 1pm)

Location: 460 North Mesa Drive Mesa, AZ 85201

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff Assists customers at the counter, receives written prescriptions for Pharmacist and retrieves filled prescriptions. Rings up orders. Receives payments, makes changes, processes checks, credit, and debit charges Assists Pharmacist in updating patient profile and entering prescription information into the pharmacy computer to extent allowable by State law. Preserves patient confidentiality. Answers phones and provides prompt and courteous member service including answering questions at pharmacy window Assists Pharmacist in filling prescriptions by bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, re-stocking, and labeling under direct Pharmacist’s supervision Orders, receives, tags, and stocks prescription drugs and supplies. Follows product storage procedures and standards Cleans department by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, and dusting. Empties trash. Follows security and safety procedures, including securing department by appropriately storing or disposing of confidential documents and by using proper disposal methods for immunization supplies and hazardous waste Regular and reliable workplace attendance Works with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keeping the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements Performs clerical duties Communicates with strong professional verbal and written communication skills Must have good attention to detail Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Process insurance claims and handle billing inquiries Will be required to take mail to post office daily (techs will rotate this responsibility week to week); will be using your own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage Dispense any or all the following: tablets/capsules, unit doses, specialty pharmaceuticals, injectables, and related supplies following state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures Process, pack, and ship outgoing pharmacy orders, ensuring drug, related supplies, and patient collateral (education materials) are included Perform drug/supply ordering and inventory including proper storage of drugs and supplies and appropriate refrigeration of perishable product, monitor and adjust/calibrate pharmacy equipment, fill dispensing units Hazardous Waste Duties - follows Hazardous Waste Protocol. Ensures proper cleanup, storage and management of hazardous materials taken in as returns or accidentally spilled. Also responsible for managing expired un-salable pharmaceuticals as per protocol referenced Assists in other areas of the department as necessary

Required Qualifications:

Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Arizona 1+ years of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician 1+ years of experience with computers and MS Office products Access to reliable transportation & valid US driver’s license Must be 18 years of age or older Ability to stand, walk, and lift to 25 lbs. frequently in a warehouse environment

Preferred Qualifications:

National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) Computer, math, insurance billing, and customer service skills preferred

The salary range for this role is $16.00 to $28.85 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
